Lindsay Daniel

Lindsay Daniel photoA long established and widely respected Charlotte architect, Lindsay Daniel specializes in single family residential, historic, and resort projects.  Lindsay Daniel Architecture has served clients from the mountains to the beaches, Utah, Florida, and most recently, Cortona, Italy and Madrid, Spain.

 Training
Lindsay's expertise is the genesis of more than 35 years serving as a professional in both interior design and architecture. Lindsay holds national and state certifications and registrations in both professions (NCIDQ, ASID, NCARB). Her formal training includes visual arts studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, two architectural degrees from UNCC, and study classes at Columbia University and Harvard University.

Teaching
Lindsay contributes to the interior design and architecture world both through practice and teaching. She lectured and taught in the Department of Architecture at UNCC, and served as a visiting juror at Yale University. Her work experience includes design apprenticeships with distinguished and award-winning design firms. Years of continuing education in the specialty of ornamentation for classical and other historic styles explain the firm's notoriety for academic details.

Awards & Recognition
The recipient of both national and statewide awards in interior design and architecture, Lindsay continues to create work for her clients that earn wide recognition. Her honors include the national Hexter Award (commercial interiors), the Kamphoefner Study Scholarship and Thesis Awards for NC architectural students, the Home Builders Association Remodelers Council Best-In-Show three out of 5 years running, NARI CotY awards, and Peoples Choice awards. Lindsay's work has appeared in Restaurant Design and Interiors magazines, and the book The Interiors Book of Shops and Restaurants, and numerous shelter magazines. Her career was highlighted in The Charlotte Business Journal.  For her personal business skills, she has been named Women Business Owners "Rising Star," finalist for NAWBO's Woman Business Owner of the Year, and 2006 Charlotte Business Journal's Women In Business Achievement Awards.

Special Interests and Service
Lindsay continues to give her time and talents to the preservation of our cultural heritage. She served six years on the Historic Landmarks Commission as Chairman of the Design Review Committee and later as Commission Chairman, where her efforts helped increase the bond fund from $1.5M to $9M. She sat on the UNCC College of Architecture Board of Advisors and CPCC Architectural Technology Program Advisory Committee.
