Touring Gallery811, I was intrigued with its mixtures of art styles/mediums.  I turned a corner and was stopped in my tracks viewing a wall full of tantalizingly bold colors and textures of exquisitely designed Evening Gowns!  Exclaiming “I have to paint these!!!”  the gallery owner said “The couturiers’ workroom is upstairs - would you like to meet him?”  Hence, my inspiration led to painting

 Luis Machicao’s (of Peru) dresses for his Fashion Show – “I Dream of Dior”  and Paris Fashion Week 2023 S/S Collection. The paintings accompanied his Charlotte show at the gallery   @luismachicaocouture

Athena & Nike by Lindsay Daniel

While visiting the Parthenon (built to honor Athene), I came across these 2 beautiful goddesses who modeled for me.  I envisioned them in these “robes”.  Athene (the protectress of war, handicraft, and reason was urban & civilized.  Nike, who usually accompanied her, was the goddess of Victory & art/music.  I am sure they also LOVED shoes!!!
